זבינא II, constr. זבין m. (זבן) 1) object of purchase, goods. Targ. O. Gen. XVII, 12 (Y. זביני pl.). Targ. Ez. VII, 13; a. e. -- Y. Kidd. III, beg., 63c ז׳ זבין bargaining for an object. Pesik. זבינתא f. (preced.) goods; bargain. Y. Ab. Zar. II, 42a וכ׳ ז׳ עילא ע״י אלא but, I say, through some accident the goods (in the ship) were upset; Y. Ter. X, 47b גבינתא (corr. acc.). -- B. זבל I (b. h.; cmp. זבד) to entertain liberally. -- Denom. זבול. Pi. זבל (cmp. זבח) to offer to idols, make merry with idolatrous ceremonies. Ab. Zar. 18b וכ׳ שם שמזבלין be- cause they have there (in their theatres) idolatrous enter- tainments; Tosef. ib. II, 5 (ed. Zuck. מזבחין). Y. Ber. IX, 13b bot. if one sees people לע״ז מז׳ engaged in idol- atrous services; a. fr.
זבל II, Pi. זבל (denom. of זבל) to deposit foliage in the field for manure, to manure. Shebi. III, 2 מזבלין כמה עד how many piles may be deposited? Ib. II, 2 וכ׳ מזבלין you may manure &c. זבל m. (cmp. Assyr. zabalu, KAT2, p. 550; cmp. צבר) [heaped up.] esp. foliage piled up for forming manure, manure, deposits. Sabb. IV, 1 you must not keep dishes warm for the Sabbath וכ׳ בז׳ in foliage . . . . whether dry or moist. Ab. Zar. III, 8 (48b; לז׳ להן והוה and serves for them as manure. Yoma V, 6 לז׳ . . . נמכרין is sold to the gardeners for forming manure. Tosef. B. Mets. XI, 8 זיבלו his heaped-up foliage. B. Mets. V, 7 (72b) עד באשפתו ז׳ לו שיהיה Ms. M. (ed. וכ׳ היתה א״כ אלא) unless he has manure piled up; a. fr. -- Pl. זבלים. Shebi. III, 1 וכ׳ ז׳ מוציאין מאימתי when may deposits of foliage be carried out for piling up in the fields. -- Gen. זבלגן m. (זלג, with inserted זולגן=ב, cmp. זבזגא a. next w.) blear-eyed. Meg. 24b. -- Pl. זבלגנים, זבלגנין. Bekh. 43b; Tosef. ib. V, 2.
זבליגא, זמבליגא (זמליגא) m. (זלג, v. preced.) a resinous tree, a species of cedar. Snh. 108b, (expl. גופר) ז׳ Ar. s. v. אדר (Var. in Ar. זמל׳); ed. מבליגא זו (corr. acc.); R. Hash. 23a מ׳ ed. (Ms. M. מ׳ , v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note; corr. acc.).
זבלת f (v. זבל) the place in the field where foliage is piled up. Tosef. B. Mets. XI, 8 לזבלתו להוציאו ed. Zuck. to carry it out to his field &c.
זבן, זבין (cmp. זמן, a. Syr. זבן) [to plan,] to bargain, buy. Dan. II, 8. -- Targ. Gen. XXV, 10; a. fr. -- B. Bath. 30a,b [read:] מינך דזבנה זבינתה מפלניא I bought it of such a person who has bought it of thee. Ib. דינאי איזבון I will buy what by law belongs to me (to avoid litigation); a. v. fr. Pa. זבין to sell. Targ. Gen. XXV, 31; 33; a. fr. -- B. Bath. l. c. ניהלי זבנה sell it to me. Ib. 90a, a. e. זברין, v. זבורית. זג m. (b. h.; זגג) 1) pl. זגים, זגין (cmp. דכד) pomace of grapes, husks or kernels and flesh. Naz. VI, 2 (34b) הפנימים אלו הז׳ . . . חרצנים hartsannim (Num.
