חבר m. (b. h. associate; Talm. =חובר, v. חבר]) 1) charmer. Snh. 65a, v. חבר. Deut. R. s. 7; a. e. -- 2) magus (v. אמגושא), Parsee priest, gue~re in gen. Parsee govern- ment. Sabb. 11a ח׳ תחת ולא נכרי תחת (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 80) rather under heathen (Roman) government, than under a Parsee. -- Pl. חברין, חברים. Kidd 72a הראני ח׳ let me see (give me a description of) the Parsees (as opposed to Persians). Pes. 113b. Yeb. 63b (ref. to Deut. XXXII, 21 נבל גוי) ח׳ אלו this means the Parsees.
