חורף m. (b. h. חרף; חרף) [severe season,] Mid- winter. B. Mets. 106b, a. e. (ref. to Gen. VIII, 22) חצי ח׳ . . . כסלו half of Kislev, Tebeth and half of Sh'bat form the midwinter.
