חרצן m., pl. חרצנים (b. h.) a pomace of kernels or shells of grapes; v. זג. Naz. VI, 2. Ib. 35a; a. fr. -- Ib. 38b חרצן אכל if he ate the shell (or the interior) of one berry. Hull. 82b וח׳ חטה זדע if he sowed a wheat grain and a kernel; a. fr. -- V. גוחרקא II.
חרצנה f. (preced.; collect. noun) kernels. Y. Maasr. I, 48d וכ׳ שלהן ח׳ שתהא their kernels must be seen through the berries.
חרצניתא, חרצנתא ch. same, stones of a fruit. Tanh. Vaera 14 מלגאו מתחמיא דח׳ דרמונא פרטתא כהדא like the berry of a pome-granate whose stones are seen from within (shining through); Pesik. Vayhi, p. 3b דחרצנייתא (read; דחרציניתא); Ex. R. s. 12 דחרציניתיה; Num. R. s. 12 דחרצינתה (corr. acc.); Cant. R. o IIl, 11 פיטרתא הדא דכל (read; חרצנתא .. .); Yalk. חרק m. (next w.) [cleft,] hcrek, a phonetic substitute for herem (חרם). Ned. I, 2. - Pl. חרקים, v. הרקייא.
חרק (b. h.) to cut a gap; to squeeze into a gap; to prick. Par. pass. חרוק, f. חרוקה; pl. חרוקים, חרוקות a) having incisions, edged, serried. Hull. 59b ed., v. זחדק. --b) wedged in. Par. XII, 8 החחרוקות (Var. החדוקות) those handles which are squeezed into holes, opp. הקדוחות bored handles; Tosef. ib. XII (XI), 17 וכ׳ וצואה הרוק אף (read; וכ׳ צואה החחרוקות אף). Pi. חרק [to set at edge,] (with שן) to gnash, grind the teeth. Pesik. R. s. 37 שיניהם מחרקין ground their teeth (in sneer). Ex. R. s. 5; Tanh. Vaera 6 עליהם מחרק התחיל וכ׳ he began to gnash his teeth against them iih rage).
חרק ch. same. Sabb. 67a פורתא ביה ליחרוק let him cut a little notch into it. Part. חריק. Y. Kil. IX, 32c bot. בשינוי וח׳ and gnashing his teeth; Y. Keth. XII, 35b וחרוק (corr. acc.), Ithpe. איחרוק, אח׳ same. Y. Kil. . c. בשינייך א׳ הויתא thou wast gnashing thy teeth; Y. Keth. l. c. א׳ הוות בשינוי (corr. acc.).
חרקא, חיר׳ m. (preced.) edge, notch. Pl. חרקי, חיר׳. Hull. 59b חירקייהו דמיבלע והוא provided the edges of their horns run irregularly into one another. Sabb. 46a חרקי בה דאית Ar. it has indentations (making the candlestick appear as if composed of movable parts), v. חדקא.
חרקייא m. pl. (preced.) [incisions,] harakaya, a Chaldaic substitute of חרק which is itself a sub- stitute of חרם. Ned. 10b what are the substitutes of herem חרפייא הרכייא ח׳ Rashl (Ar. הר׳; ed. חרקים &c., h. pl. of הרק &c.).
חרר I, Pi. חרר (v. חור I) to break through. to cave Ohol. III, 7; Succ. 20b מים שחררוהו חור (or שחררוהו) a. cavity made by water, by animals &c.

חררה f. (חרר IV) [rounded heap,] 1) a thick cake baked on coals. Kidd. 59a, v. הפך (v. also Rashi a. l. a. infra). Sabb. I, 10. vTosef. Hag. III, 12; Y. ib. II, 79b, v. החב. B. Kam.
