כופתא III m. (כפת) being tied on the altar (ר h. עקדה). Targ. Job. III, 18 (19).
כוץ, כויץ, כווץ (cmp. קוץ. גוע) to curl, shrink. Sabb. 20b כווינן מכוון צמר wool (if used as a wick) curls. Nidd. 3a כוין מכון . . מוך the lint . . shrinks (and leaves room for the bblood to pass). Succ. 23b כווצא דמייתא כיון when the animal is dead, the body shrinks. Hull. 43b שחותכו כל וכויץ that portion of the gullet which shrinks when you cut it. Ib. 46b, v. infra. כור m. (b. h. כר; כרר, v. כרה) [a heap,] Khor, a measure of capacity, כ׳ בית (or כ׳, sub. בית) an area reguiring a Khor of seed. B. Mets. 105b זרע כ׳ a field requiring a. Khor of seed; תבואה כ׳ a field yielding a Khor of grain. Ib. לכ׳ סאין ד׳ four S'ah of seed for a Beth Khor of land, v. נפילה. B. Bath. VII, 1; 2 כ׳ בית. *כורך m. (כרך; cmp. כרוכא) part of a plough contain- ing a receptacle out of which the seed falls during the ploaghing. Kel. XXI, 2 R. Hal G.; v., however, ביך.

כורם (b. h. כרם; denom. of כרם) vintager, gardener. - Pl. כורמים. Tanh. Bo 4; Yalk. EEx. 182 כורמיהן .. . המה they (the Egyptians) planned that they (the Israelites) should be their gardeners.
כורמיזא m. (כמז with inserted ר; cmp. h. קמץ) fist. Targ. O. Ex. XXI, 18. Targ. Is. LVIII, 4. -- Midr. Prov. to XXII, 6 (prov.) בכ׳ ולשטיא ברמיזא לחכימא to the wise man a hint, to the fool a fist.
