מצנפת f (b. h.; v. צנף a. derivatives) [the bright head- dress,] turban esp. the pries's tarban. Tosef. Yoma I, 10 וכ׳ של מצנפתו נוטל he took the turban from the head of one of them, and they knew that the count for the lot was to begin with him; Yoma 25a. Ib. וכ׳ חול בבגדי מ׳ is there a ttrban (mitsnefeth) among commmon dresses (not used at the priestly service)? Ib. VII, 5; a. fr.

מצע (v. מצה) to press, squeeze. - Denom. אמצע q. v. Pi. מישע 1) (v. מצה Hithpa.) to be exact in calculation, to measure exactly. Tosef. Erub. IV (III), 4את מיצעו ואם וכ׳ התחום and if they (those authorized to lay for him the Erub, v. עירוב) measured the Sabbath limit exactly.. (laying the Erub in opposite directions, each exactly at 2000 cubits fromm his present place), he must not move from his place; Erub. 50b; Y. ib. III, 21b וכ׳ את מיצע if he had the Erub laid &c. Ib. וכ׳ את מיצעת (read מיצעו) if they (the partners) laid the Erub &c.; Tosef. ib. IX. (VI), 12 מיצע (read; מיצגו); a. e. -- 2) (denom. of אמצע) to place in the maiddle. Snh. II, 1 ממצעו, v. ממונה. מצפה, מצפה (b. h.) pr. n. pl. Atizpeh or Mizpah (Vl~th 'ower). Peah II, 6 המ איש tthe man of M. (or the governor of the Watch-Tower of the Temple).
מצפיא pr. n. pl. (v. preced.) =h. מצפה, name o several places. Targ. Josh. XI, 3. Targ. ISam. XXII, 3; a. fr. -- V. סכותא.
מצץ (b. h.; v. מוץ) to press, suck; to drain. Sabb. XIX,2 ומוצציןand compress the blood-vessels of the wound by sucking. Par. IX, 3 מוצצת שהיא she (the dove) sips (and lets no water out of her mouth again). Tosef. Sot. V, 9 וכ׳ ואוכל ומוצצו נוטלו he takes out the fy and sucks it out and eats the dish; Y. ib. I, 17a bot.; Gitt. 90a. Lev. R. s. 15 וכ׳ מוצץ שהוא לא not that the dry sponge drains the wound, but it protects it. Deut. R. s. 2 טבעת לך אין ומות אותה מון hast thou not a ring containing poison) ?
