(ed. incorr.) as maror is soft (mild) in its be- ginning and hard (pungent) at its end (root). Ib. ממאי וכ׳ מ׳ דהאי how can you tell that the maror (מררים, Ex. XII, 8) means an herb, perhaps the gall of a kufa is meant? Ib. חד מ׳ אימא but may I not say, maror means one certain species exclusively ?
