Hif. הדיר to putt a persoa under the infuence of a vow; to prohibit, forbid. Keth. VII, 1 אשתו את המדיר לו מליהנות if one vows tthat his wife shall derrive no benefit from him. Ib. וכ׳ תטעום שלא . . המדיר if a man (by confirming her vow) subjects his wife to a restriction from tasting &c. Y. ib. 31b מחיים אשתו את שמדיר אדם ויש (not חבירו) can a man forbid his wife that which belongs to the necessaries of iife? Ib. bot. להשאיל שלא הדירה וכ׳ if he, by means of a vow, forbade her to lend to her neiighbors a winnow or a sieve. Ned. III, 3 חבירו הדירו וכ׳ if his friend urged him under a vow to dine with him. נדר m. (b. h.; נדר) vow. Kinn. I, 1, v. נדבה. Ned. II, 3 ׳ בתוך ׳ יש there is a vow within a vow, i. e. if one repeats the vow to be a Nazarite, it is a double vow. Ib. 8a וכ׳ נדר גדול ׳ (by saying so) he has made a great vow to the God of Israel; a. v. fr. -- Y. Sabb. נהג (b. h.) [to drive an animal,] to lead, conduct; to demean one's self; to be guided by, be wont to; to appdy, be practiced. Keth. 103b נהוג, v. דמים. Hull. VII, 1 נוהג, v. גיד. Sifra Tsav, Par. 11, ch. XVIII לדורות הדבי שינהוג which intimates that this order should be preserved at all times. Pes. IV, 1 וכ׳ שנהגו מקום where it is a local usage to &c. Meg. 6b וכ׳ בשני שנוהגות מצות כל all laws that apply to the second (Adar) apply also to the frst.
