נרגילא m. (Pers. nargil, Perl. Et. St. p. 38) cocoanut, cocoanut-palm the bast of which is used for making ropes. Erub. 58a, v. נברא.
נרגל (b. h.) pr. n. ergal, 1) a deity of the Cutheans (v. Schr. KAT2, p. 282, sq.). Snh. 63b (quoting II Kings XVII, 30 נרגול), expl. תרנגול a cock; Y. Ab. Zar. III, 42b top וכ׳ דיוסף וריגליה דיעקב ריגליה Nergal has the mean- ing of luck in the sense in which the Scripture speaks of the lutck of Jacob (Gen.
