נתץ (b. h.) to chip off; to tear down. Neg. XIII, 2 שלו את נותין נותן שהוא בזמן when he has to tear down (Lev. XIV, 45), he must chip of his part of tthe house, contrad. to חלן; Tosef. ib. VI, 10. Ib. וכ׳ את נותן בנתיצה (not נותן) when he has to tear down, he must chop those stones which are affected as well as those which are not; a. fr. Nif. ניתן to be torn down. Ab. Zar. 53b רובו שינתן עד until the largest part of it is torn down; Tosef. ib. V (VI), 8 שינתן (corr. acc.). Neg. XIII, 1; a. fr. Hof. הות״ן same. Ab. Zar. III, 9 יותן חדש אם if the oven was new, it must be taken apart; Pes. 26b; a. fr.
נתק (b. h.; cmp. preced. a. נתך) 1) to break loose; tear out. Y. Shebi. IV, 35b bot. וכ׳ לתוק יתוק לקון שנהגו מקום where it is customary to cut the reeds, let him pluck them; where it is customary to pluck them &c.; Tosef. ib. III, 19 Var. לתוך יתוך. Cant. R. to VIII, 6 (ref. to Jer. XXII, 24) וכ׳ מלכות נותק שהוא that he will tear the Davidic kingdom out of his hand; ib. וכ׳ נותק אני משם from there I shall tear loose the kingdom &c.; Pesik. Shub., p. 163a. Bekh. 33b נותק he who tears loose (testicles and throws them away); כורת אחר נותק who removes them after one has cut them (tearing offf the roots). SifraThazr., Neg., ch. VII, Par. 5 אדם נתקו אם iff a man made it bald (נתק); (R. S. to Neg. III, 5 אדם בידי ניתקסו אם, Nif.); a. e. - Part. pass. נתוק (b. h.) an animal whose testicles have been forcibly reamoved; [oth. opin.; whose membrum has been mutilated by a violent severance]. III, 13 וכ׳ נותקין ואינן . . ונותקות רכות ענבים grapes are soft and let their juice ooze out (when packed), but olives are hard and do not let their oil ooze out.; Y. ib. III, 42b top, v. דיהא. Pi. ניתק 1) to tear loose. Cant. R. l. c. (ref. to Jer. l. c.) אתקנך J. אין אנתקך it does not say inattekkkha (I shall. tear thee loose), buut (it may be read) athakkkenkha (I shall restore thee, v. תקן); Yalk. Jer. 303 אתקך (Hif.); Pesik. l. c. - 2) [to tear, pull] to remonstrate, protest. Sifre Num. 115; Yalk. Num. 750 מנתק ההוא הבן התחיל that son began to protest (against doing slave's work); ושראל התסילו מנתקים the Israelites remonstrated (against the laws imposed upon them); v. infra. Nif. ניתק, ניתוק 1) to be torn loose; to fal out. Hull. 123b מאליו לנתק העשוי שומר a protection (cover) which is likely to come off of itself. Nidd. 65a שניו שנתקו כיון וכ׳ when a man's teeth are gone; a. e. - 2) [to tear one's self loose,] to remonstrate, be discontented. Sifra Ahare, Par. 9, ch. XIII בעריות לינתק . גלוי it was known be- fore the Lord that they would bear unwillinly the re- strictive laws concerning sexual relations; בעריות ניתקו they did remonstrate &c. (ref. to Num. XI, 10; v. Sabb. 130a; Yoma 75a); Yalk. Lev. 590. -- 3) to be shifed, trans- formed, modified. Zeb. 5b, a. fr. לרעיה ש׳ אשם an animal. dedicated as a guilt--offering which (on account of its owner's death &c.) has been condemned to pasture until natural death (v. סאב). -- Y. Naz. IV, end, 53c מלא משנ׳ לעשה תעשה since it (the cutting of the hair which is for- bidden to the Nazarite) has gone over from a prohibition to a positive duty (Num. VI, 18). -- לעשה שנ׳ לאו. a pro- hibition transformed into a command, i. e. a prohibitive law the transgression of which must be repaired by a. succeeding act, e..gg.(Lev. XIX, 13) thou shalt not rob', and (ib. V, 23) he shall make restitution.' Hull. 141a (for which ib. XII, 4 עשה קום בה שיש תעשה לא מצות). Yoma 85b לא לעשה ש׳ תעשה; a. fr. -- 4) (v. Kal 2) to enter a stage of moistt decomposition. Y. Nas. VII, 56b, v. כצל. -- 5) (denom. of נתק) to become hairless and blanched, to be afficted with נתק. Neg. X, 9 ראשו כל ונ׳ and his entire head be- came bald (v. קרתת). Sifra Thazr. l. c. בתוך נתק שני׳ את נתק a person that became afficted with a bald spot within a patch of hair surrounded by baldness (Neg. X, ?7 מזה לפנים זה נתקין שני; a. fr.).
נתק ch. same; Af. אתיק to pull, drag. Targ. Jer. XII, 3 אתיקינון or אתקינון (ed. אתק׳, ed. Lag. אתקיני׳, v. תקן; h. text התיקם). Pa. נתיק 1) to tear, sever. B. Kam. 9b לנתוקי דרכיה שור an ox may be expected to tear (the rope). Bets. 10b מנתקי Ms. M., v. נתח. -- 2) to snatch, take aaway. Yoma. 46b נתקה דנתקה כיוון having snatched it (the coal from the altar), he has snatched it (and it has its sacred character no lionger). -- 3) to shiftt, transform. Macc. 15a וכ׳ לאוי לנתוקי ההוא Ms. M. (Rashi לאויה, ed. לאו) this (positive command) has the function of modifying the prohibitory law (intimating the reparation in the eventh. of its transgression); v. preced. Nifח thpe. אתנתק, אינתיק 1) to be severed, snatched. Targ. Koh. IV, 12. -Yoma l. c. למצותה אאינתיקהthe taking it from the altar was done for an ordained use of it; a. e. -- 2) to be set aside, be designated. Erub. 13a רחל לשום דא׳ כיון וכ׳ מינתקא הדרא לא תו having been originally designated (copied) for Rachel, it cannot again be converted and used for Leah; Sot. 20b. Zeb. 3a; a. e.

נתר I (b. h.; cmp. נתק) to sever, loosen. Nif. ניתר, ניתור 1) to be torn loose, be released. Y. Taan. II, 65a top, v. נטש II a. נתלש. -Trnsf. to be untied, released from an obligation; to become permitted. Y. Yeb. IV, 6b bot. (ref. to Deut. XXV, 10) וכ׳ ניתר שהוא בית a house (of several wives) which is released (from the leviratical marriage) by means of one hdlitsah (performed on one of the wives). Y. Bicc. I, 64b top ליתור שנראו הביכורים כל וכ׳ ניתורין אינן . . all the first fruits which are to be released (become permitted by being brought to the Temple) in the land (of Palesine), can become so only by reciting tthe confession (Deut.
