פוקרין m. (~~~~~~2) lock or tuft of wool (used as iint on a wound). Toset. Sabb. V (VI), 2; Sabb. 50a בפוק׳ Ms. M. (ed. בפקו׳; Ms. O. בפיקור׳; corr. acc.). Gen. R. s. 77 וכ׳ פ׳ . . נטל Jacob . . took a tuft of wool and stuck it in his throat; Yalk. ib. 132 פוקרי (corr. acc.); Cant. R. to III, 6 וכ׳ וכרכו פרקדין נטל (corr. acc.) he took (a rope of) wool and wound itt around his neck. Koh. פורא m. =פירא, fruit. - Pl. פודיא, פורין, פורי. Ruth. R. introd. (ref. to תפיל, Prov. XIX, 15) שעריהון נפל כמדוא דפ׳ as you say, the price of fruits has fallen (meaning, fruits are plentirul). Y. Taan. III, 66a top דשמש חמופ איתון come and see the fruits of the sun (of a hot and dry year). Gen. R. s. 7I (ref. to עינין Job XXXVI, 7) כאינש דפוריה עיניהון דאמר (not עינוהי) as a man says, the eyes (prospects) of the fruits (hopes of success; Midr. Sam. ch. XXVIII קפידיהון עייניהון, v. קפידא). *פורבי f. (מg~~~~~) halter. Gen. R. s. 45 (prov.) אם פ׳ לך עתיד . . אמר Mus. (ed. פרוכי לך עביד) if one tells thee, thou hast the ears of an ass, mind it not; if two, order a halter for thyself; (Yalk. ib. 79 פרומי, v. פורמא).
פורגרה m. (redupl. of פרג) a sprouting bulb, seed- onion. Y. Peah II, 17c (expl. בצלים של אמהות, Mish. III, 4) פ׳ אמר רב Rab says, it is what we call purgarah (R. S. a. l. פרגד, read; פרגר). Y.
