פלגסm. (~~~~a~, ~~~~~~, prob. ofSemitic origin; cmp. פלגיסא, a. פלגש) a youth in the interomediate stage betiween boyhood and maturity; trnsf. a sheep beyond the age of כבש and below that of איל (v. קדaנ). Par. I, 3 טרפין רבי פי קורהו R. T. named such a sheep of thirteen months a. pallam. Hull. 23a. Tosef. ib. I 14 פסול ובזה בזה הפ׳ the palla is unfit for sacrifice either as כטבש or as איל. -- Pl. ch. פלגיסין. Targ. Ps. XXXVII, 20 (b. text כרים).
פלגסא, v. פלגיסא. פלגש, פלגש (b. p., פל, v. Ieiltssch Geoe~lsa ebo concubine. Y. Keth. V, 29d top אין פ׳ כתובה לה יש אשה וכ׳ the wife has a marriage contract securing a settlement for her (כתובה), the concubine has none; (oth. opin.) אשה וכ׳ פ׳ כתובה ותנאי כתובה לה יש the wife has a marriage contract containing besides the settlement all conditions of a marriage contract (alimentation &c.), the concubine has the contract but without the conditions; a. fr. --- פ בגבעה, v. גבעה. -- P. פלגשים, פיל׳. Snh. 21a. Num. R. s. 9 (ref. to Cant. VI, 8) חשודות שהם׳ פ׳ ונקראו . . . שמונים there are eighty families (of nations) that know their mothers but not their fathers, and they are called 'concubines, for the concubines are suspected (of faithlessness).

פלוג m. (פלג) a portion (of meat). Targ. II Sam.VI, 19; Targ. IChr. XVI, 3 (ed. Lag. פלג; h. text אשפר). - Pl. סלוגי. Meg. 7b פ׳ שתין בהו אכלי I ate sixty portions of them. Yoma 83b וצעי פ׳ אהדרוהו Ms. M. 2 a. Ar. (Ms. M. 1 פלאגי) they placed fine portions and dishes around him (v, however, לוגא).

פלוגתא II, פלוגתה pr. n. pl. Plugta, nearTiberias. Num. R. s. 9 וכ׳ מפ׳ לה שיורדים מעון בית הדה כגון like BetheMa on to which they go down when coming from P., and up from Tiberias; (en. R. s. 85 שובתי כפר; Y. Sot. I, 17a bot. פלטתה). Lev. R. s. 5 (ref. to Am. VI, 6) they got their wine וכ׳ ולו נתפתו יינם שעל מפלוגתא from P., for on account of their wine the ten tribes were led astray, and had to go into exile (v. פתוגתא); Num. R. s. 10; Yalk. Am. 545. פלוליניא m. pl. (פלל, cmp. פלפלא; cmp. Syr. פלילתא fenum grecum, P. Sm. 31 30) a preserre or sauce of fenugrec, coniainipg an admixture of fermenting matter. Y. Pes. III, 30a.
