פרא m. (b. h.; preced.) 1) wild ass. Deut. R. s. 5 (ref. to Jer. II, 24) וכ׳ גדל שהפפ כשם (some ed. ששהערד) as the wild ass is raised in the desert and is without fear of man, so did I intend that no fear of governments should rest upon you; (Yalk. Jer. 266 ערוד). -- 2) savage, cruel. Gen. R. s. 45 (ref. to Gen. XVI, 12) וכ׳ וודאי אדם פ׳ 'a savage among men' in its literal sense, for all other plunder goods, but he (Edom-Rome) captures souls.
פרא I m., pl. פרייא (פרא) [runners,] children of six or seven years of age. Y. Gitt. V, 47b bot., v. אפיוטות.
פרא II m. (פרר; cmp. נכי) less. Gen. R. s. 20, end וכ׳ לביש דאת מה מן ופ׳ אכול חילך לפום spend according to thy means on eating, but less on clothing, and more on dwelling. Y. Ab. Zar. IV, 43a bot. חד פ׳ כולהון תבר he broke all of them save one. Y. Erub. II, 20b חמשא מאת פ׳׳ אלפין (read מאה) ive thousand minus one hundred. Y. Keth. VI, 30d bot. ציבחד פ׳ חולקין תרין a little less than two thirds. פראדורין, פראדורן, read פראדרון m. (~~~~~oq, S., accus. form, or 7beoeps) familiar, regular visitor. Ex. R. s. 33 . . . משנשאה חמיו לבית פ׳ הווה הוא . . זמן כל אצלה so long as he has not married his betrothed, he is a visitor at the house of his father-in law; after he has married her, her father comes to her.

*פראלוקין m. (~~~~~~~~~, ~) [whitish,] name of a gem in the high priest's breastplate (corresp. to להם). Ex. R. s. 38, end [perh. a corrupt. of בירולין vןp~aos, vv. LXX, Ex. XXVIII, 20d.

*פראסופא, פרוסופאpr. n. Parasopha, Prosopha (Prosopa), supposed to be the name of a place near, or of a building in Tiberias. Gen. R. s. 65 the arms of Jacob were as thick סופא דיפרא עמודין כתרין (combin h; Ar. דפרוסופא; ed. Koh. דפרסופא) as the two columns of P.; Yalk. ib. 115 דפרספא; (Tanh. Vayhi 6 שבתוך עמודים כשני שבטבריא דמוסין).
פראפורון, read
פראפורנוןm. (~~~~g~~~) thatwhich a bridebrings over and above her dower; also (v. מוהר) the wife's ade. ditional settlement above the usual one (כתובה תוספת). Gen. R. s. 80 (ref. to Gen. XXIV, 12) פ׳ מתן פרנון מוהר mohar is the endowment, mattan the addition; Yalk. ib.. 134 פ׳ פרא (combine). Gen. פרבר m. (late b. h.; v. Ges. Hebr. Dict.)b s. v.) out- works, Parbar, name of a Temle precinct. Zeb. 55b (quot. IChr. XXVI, 18) בר לפר (Ms. R. 2 לפרבר, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 100), exl. בר כלפי דאמר כמאן as one says, run- ning towards the outside (v. פרא); Tam. 27a לפרבר. --V. פרוור.
פרג (cmp. פרח) to break through, sprout. Hif. הפריג (sub. זרע) to sprout, germinate, roduce with-- ered growth. Num. R. s. 7 (ref. to תפריחי, Is. XVII, 11) שהפריגה אותה ומצא . . . בבקר in the morning he went to look at it (the garden planted with cabbage) and found that it (its growth) had germinated (and the cabbage was ruined); הפרגת הרי . . . היית בערב in the evening thou wast fine and excellent, and in the morning, behold, thou art ruined; (Lev. R. s. 18 שהוריקה, v. ידק).
