קוסיטרפיזיןm. pl. (~~~~~~~~~~~~, DuCangeI, 22) parasites, toad-eaters. Lam. R. to I, 22 (expl. מגורי, ib.; v. מגיר) עלי הבאתם טר׳ קוסי שהיו אדם בני Ar. (combine קוסיטר׳, and insert שלי) men that were parasites at my ttable didst thou lead against me; (ed. corrupt.).

קועא m. (cmp. נקע) throat, gullet, windpipe. Ab. Zar. 29a (to one that entrusted himself to a gentile barber) לזוגא קועיך יאי thou hast a fine neck for the shears. Bull. 28a; 53b, v. מסמס I. B. Kam. 117a מיניה לקועיה ששמטיה tore his windpipe out ofhim (a colloquial expression for; forced him to give up the threatened information against his neighbor; differ. in Rashi). Ib. 55a קועיה אריך (Ms. H. קאק׳, emended קעק; Ar. קקיה; v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 200) has a long neck, ק׳ זוטר a short neck. Ib. קועיה אלים (Ms. M. קאקיה) has a thick neck; ק׳ קטין slender neck. Ber. 49a וכ׳ לקועיה . . . זקפיה (Ms. M. לצוארי׳ .. . מתחיה) R. Shesheth stretched his neck over me like a serpent (was angry). Yoma 87a bot. בקועיה מחייה . . . דקא בהדי וקטליה (not בקועייה) while he was splitting a head, a bone flew off and struck his throat (severing an artery), and killed him; a. e. - [Yalk. קו׳״ף, קוף I Kof, the nineteenth letter of the al- phabet. Maas. Sh. IV, 11 קרבן ק׳ . . כלי המוצא f you find a vessel on which Kof is written, it indicates that. the contents are consecrated. Sabb. 104a (in children's conversations) רשע רייש קדוש ק Kof intimates the Holy One, Resh, the wicked; מריש דק׳ .. מוט why is the face of Kof turned away from Hesh (why does Hesh turn its back to Kof)? Ib. דק׳ תגיה the crownlet on the KKof; a. e.
קוף II m. (b. h.) ape. Kil. VIII, 6. Bekh. 8a והק׳ המיל וכ׳ והקיפוף the elephant, the ape, and uhe long-tailed ape (cercopithacos) give birth after three years of pregnancy. B. קופא II m. (קפף; cmp. Syr. קופא vectis, P. Sm. 3551) 1) lever, carrying pole. Targ. Y. Num. IV, 12 (h. text מום). Targ. Y. II ib. XIII, 23 קופה. -- 2) (cmp. גפן) trunk, vine. B. Mets. 109b פלגא סבא ק׳ (Ms. H. קפא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 6) of the trunk of an old vine (that is cut down) the gardener gets an even share with the tenant. Hull, 110a הוה סבא ק׳ Ar. (Ms. H. קי׳, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 10; missing in ed.) it was an old trunk. - Pl. קופאי. B. Bath. .24a ק׳ בי (Ms. F. קפאי) between the trunks of vines. -- 3) that which hangs on the carrying pole. Hull. 111a קניא בקופיה (Ar. בקפיה) the windpipe with all that hangs on it (lungs, heart &c.).
