רביב m. (רבב) 1) lining, thick cloth. Sifre Deut. 306 (ref. to רביבים, Deut. XXXII, 2) הרקיע את שמארגת . .. זה כר׳ (Pesik. Zutr. Haas., ed. Bub. p. 110 שמרבבת) that is the south wind which overweaves (which lines) the sky as with a thick lining; Yalk. ib. 942. -- 2) pl. רביבים (b. h.; דבב, cmp. רביעה) growth-advancing,] rains. Sifre l. c. (ref. to Deut. l. c.) וכ׳ יורדים הללו ר׳ מה as the rains come down on plants &c.; Yalk. l. c. B. רביכה f. (רבך, cmp. רבג) 1) a pulp of flour mixed with hot water and oil (v. Lev. VII, 12). Men. 89a (ref. tto Lev. l. c.) ולר׳ . . חצי יהא יכול lest you think that the half Log of oil is to be equally distributed among the cakes, tthe wafers, and the pulp; ריבה בר׳ בשמן אומר כשהוא לר׳ שמן (Rashi ברבוכה) as the text repeats with oil in connection with the pulp, it intimates by the repetition that more oil is required for the pulp. Y. Snh. XI, 30b. Tam. 28b לר׳ חמין להחם (Ar. לרבוכה) to make hot water for tthe pulp. Y. Pes. II, 29b bot. - 2) v. רבוכה.

דביע m. (v. רביעי) 1) one fourth; 2) square. Tosef. Sot. V, 13; Erub. 56b ר׳ מגרש the pasture ground of Levitic townships was one fourih of the area; Y. Sot. V, 20b bot. מגרש ר׳, Ib. מאלף ר׳ it means a square of one thousand cubits; הוא ר׳ צד מכל ר׳ תימא אפי׳ even if you say that it means 'square', at all events it is one-fourth of tthe area. Gitt. רביעה f. (רבע) 1) coupling, esp. (v. Lev. XX, 16) carnal connection with beasts, buggeay. Ab. Zar. II, 1 מפני הר׳ . . . because they (the gentiles) are suspected of using beasts for buggery. Ib. 23a. B. Kam. 40a, sq.; a. e. - 2) (v... בעל h. a. ch.) [fructification,] rainfal in the autumn. Taan. 6b שנייה ר׳ . . . עד until the second rainfall comes down. Ib. וכ׳ שרובע דבר ר׳ לשון מאי what is the radical meaning ofרביעה Something which fructifies the ground, as R. J. says, the rain is the husband &c.'
