Hof. הורצה to be favorably received. Yoma 7a ה׳ . . . דם ה לא במזיד if blood became unclean, and one sprinkled it, if by mistake, it is received (and the fesh may be eaten), if wilfully, it is not; Pes. 16b; a. fr. Hithp. התרצה, Nitthpa. נתרצה 1) to be reconciled, be satisfied; to comply with. Ex. R. s. 45 להם והתרשה לך go and comply with their wish, go back to the camp. Kidd. 45a שני בקידושי האב נ׳ שמא perhaps the father was satisfied with (confirmed)the betrothal of the second man. Ib,b שמא הבן נ׳ perhaps the son sanctioned (his father's action in his behalf). Y. Ber. IV, 7d top; Y. Taan. IV, 67d bot. וכ׳ ואתם אני נתרציתם if you are satisfied, let me and you go early to &c.; (Ber. 28a נתפייסת); a. fr. - 2) to be gratifed, enyoy. רצי, רצא ch. same; v. next w. Pa. רי to appease, to efectt atonement. Ber. 33b כמה למריה לרפעויי ידע how well that scholar knows how to appease his Master Yoma 7a לרצויי לי למה what need would there be for ttie atoning power of the priest's plate?ם; a. e. - Erub. 100b; Yalk. Gen. 31, v. infra. Af. ארצי 1) to be pleasant. Erub. 100b ארצויי דמרציא קמיה (Ms. M. רצויי דמרצי, read; דמרציא, Pa.) she makes herself pleasant (attractive) to him; Yalk. Gen. 31 דמרצייא רצוייה she tries to please him. - 2) as preced. Hif. 3. Hag. 14b וכ׳ קמיה וארצו דא׳ he mentions only such a one as discoursed (on theosophy), and before whom others dis- coursed. Ib. דא׳ מאן קמיה מיהא דא׳ he at least discoursed before one who again discoursed before others. IIhpe. איתרצי, אירצי to be appeased. Taan. 23b אפשר וכ׳ הקביה דמירשי (Ms. M. 2 דמתרצי, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 90) peradventure the Lord will be appeased and send rain.
רציא, רצייא m. (preced.) peace-maker, advocate. Targ. Prov. VI, 22 רצייך תיהוי היא ed. Lag. (ed. Wil. רציך) she (the Law) will be thy advocate (in the hereafter, v. Gen. R. s. 35, a. Rashi to Prov. l. c.; h. text תשיחך).
רציחה f. (הגח) case of murder, capital case, capital execution. Snh. 35a שבת דוחה ר׳ אין capital punishment does not supersede tthe Sabbath (v. דחה). Mekh. Mishp. s. 4 (ref. to Ex. XXI, 14) וכ׳ שדוחה ר׳ על ללמדך to intimate that the execution of a culprit supersedes the Temple service; a. fr.

רצינתא f. (=רצע׳; cmp. דצועה, a. ארקתא III) name of a worm in grain. B. Bath. 91b (expl. סלמנטון בלא ib.) ר׳ בלא (Ms. H. ריציתא, Ms. R. ריצניתא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. lI. note 2) without the grain worm; Yalk. Lev. 661 דיצעתא.
דציעה f. (רצע) boring, esp. the boring through of the Hebrew bondsman's ear (according to Ex. XXI, 6). Kidd. I, 2 בר׳ נקנה הנרצע the slave that has his ear bored through is taken possession of by the act of boring. Ib. 17b (ref. to Deut. XV, 17) לר׳ אלא אינו או . . . אתה you say, 'and also to thy maid-servant thou shalt do likewise refers to the outfit (of the released slave), may it not refer to the boring? Ib. 16b באשה ר׳ אין the law of boring through the ear does not apply to a woman. Ib. ר׳ של יובל the jubilee year for the slave that had his ear bored through (having declined to go free in his seventh year); a. fr.

רציצא, רציצה m. (רצץ) a crushed pullet in the eggeshell. Bekh. 8b Ar,, ed. דצועא.
דצם (cmp. רתץ) to press, flatten. Y. Nidd. III, 50d אין חי שרצמו אלא סנדל a sandal fcetus (v. סנדל) occurs only when a live fetus has been pressing on it. Niff. נרצם to be pressed, flattened. Bab. ib. 25b מתחלתו שנ׳ אלא הוא ולד Ar. (ed. שנרצף) the sandal was originally a normal embryo, but was flattened by pressure, V. supra. Bets. 28b ש׳ שפוד a roasting spit which has been crushed (and its point broken off), contrad. to שנרצף, v. דף.
צעo (b. h.; cmp. preced.) 1) to press, flatten; denom. רצועה. - 2) to bore with the awl, esp. to perforate the ear of a Hebrew bondsman (according to Ex. XXI, 6). Kidd. 21b; Sitre Deut. 122 וכ׳ איןדועים, v. מילת; Bekh. 7b רועעין a. fr. -- Part. ppass. דצוע; f רצועעה; pl. רצועות;דצועים. Tosef. Bekh. V, 3; a. e. -3) (denom. of רצועה) to lash. Kidd. 70a רושעו והקבוה כופתו אליהו Elijah shall bind and the Lord lash him. Nif. נרצע to be perforated; (of the Hebrew bondsman) to have the ear bored through. Ib. 21b וכ׳ נ׳ כהן . . . אין a bondsman priest must not have his ear bored through, because it would unfit him for priestly service. Ib. I, 2 וכ׳ הנרצע, v. דציעה. Ib. 14b נ׳ אינו עצמו המוכר he that sells himself need not undergo the operation of boring (in order to prolong his service); a. fr. Pi. ריצע to lash. Tosef. 8ot. XV, 7 וריצעו לרוצען מסרוהו (ed. וצען, רוצען m. (preced.) 1) leatheי-worker, shoe- maker, saddler. - Pl. רצענים, יצענין, רו׳. Pes. IV, 6 (Y. ed. רו׳). Ib. 55b; Tosef. ib. II(IIII), 18; a. e. - 2) (v. זמורה) = הרצועה בעל strap-bearer. Tosef. Sot. XV, , v. דצע.
רצענא, רו׳ ch. same, shoemaker, saddler. Sabb. 60b.
רצף (b. h.; cmp. רצם) 1) to press, crush. Nidd. 14a רצפה שמש the membrum may have crushed it. --- Partt. pass. ראוף; f רצופה; pl. רצופים, רצופות;רצופין. Ib. מאכולת ר׳ a crushed louse. -- 2) (cmp. כתת a. denom.) toyoin closely, to place in rmws; to pave with blocks. Ohol. XVIII, 5 באבנים . . . הרוצף if one paves an unclean field (v. פרס) with stones.
