שיסוע, שס׳ m. (שסע) splitting, rending. Zeb. 65b אין ביד אלא ש׳ Ms. M. (ed. שיסע) the rending of the sacrificial bird must be done with the hand; Yalk. Lev. 447. Ib.; Sifra Vayikra, N'dab., Par. 7, ch. IX (ref. to Lev. I, 17) בש׳.. בש אותו it (the bird) must be rent, but the burnt- offering of cattle must not; a. e. - [Pl. שיפועים. Sifra Sh'mini, ch. שיעבד, שיעבוד, שיעבודא, v. sub שעב׳.
שיעור, שעור m. (שער) proportion, standard, definite qitantity or sige, limit. Peah I, 1ש להם שאין. .. אלו for the following things there is no definite proportion or quantity prescribed. Y. ib. 15a bot. וכ׳ למעלן לא ש׳ להם אין they have no limits set either of a maximum or of a mininumi..׳ Hall. I, 7 כש׳ ... אין אם iff either portion is not of the legal size (to require the separation of the priest's share). Ib. IV, 8 וכ׳ ש׳ לה יש אאור של for that portion of Hallah which is to be burnt there is a legal quantity (a minimum) &c. Ib. וכ׳ ש׳ לה אין אור של for that which is to be burnt there is no minimum prescribed, but there is one for that which is to be given to the priest. Nidd. 26a שופר שש׳ the legal length of a shofar. שיפא I m. (preced.) planed board. Erub. 101a (expl. אלמנה דלת) ש דחד דאמרי איכא (Ms. O. דפא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 2) some say, it means a door consisting of one planed board.
