תונבא m. (תנב to become rigid, Brockeim. Lex. Syr.) stupor,loss of sensation. Targ. Job XXXIII, 20. -Yoma 83a ליה דנקים הוא ת stupor seized him (so that he does not feel the lack of food). Nidd. 37b לה . . בעלמא ת׳ it is merely stupor that seized her (so that she feels no pain).

תוספת f. (יסף) 1) addition, increase. Gen. R. s. 22 (ref. to Gen. IV, 2) לעיבור ת׳ ולא ללינה ח׳ she bore again' means an additional birth, but not an additional prega nancy (Abel having been conceived simultaneously with Cain). Ib. s. 61 וכ׳ מרובה הקבוה של תוספתו what God adds is more than the original; וכ׳ ת׳ שהוא . . עיקר קין Cain was the original, and Abel, because he was an addition , was born himself and two twin sisters with him.
