Preface[edit]
This book is the result of a great deal of hard work extending over a period of four years. I have endeavored to make it both accurate and exhaustive, and in order to achieve that end I have personally consulted the authorities, and have left no part of the labor to others. How far I have succeeded in my aim I leave the profession to judge. If this book will render it easier for the busy lawyer to inform himself in regard to a difficult and complicated subject it will not have been written in vain.
