Atye, Sir Arthur (Atie), student of Christ Church, B.A. 1 July, 1560; fellow of Merton Coll. 1562, M.A. (? 14 April) 1564, B. & D.C.L. (sup. 27 Oct.), 1574, principal of St. Alban Hall 1569-81, proctor 1570, public orator 1572-82, private secretary to Lord Leicester, knighted by James I. 11 May, 1603, died 2 Dec., 1604, buried at Harrow, father of the next named.
