Cobden, Edward, s. William, of Haslemere, Surrey, gent. Trinity Coll., matric. 19 Nov., 1702, aged 16, B.A. 1706 (incorp. at Cambridge 1713, M.A. from King's Coll. 1713). B. & D.D. 1723, baptized at Haslemere 15 July, 1683, educated at Winchester College, vicar of Empshot, Hants, of Sandon, Herts, 1711, and of Buckden, Hunts, 1720, canon of Lincoln 1721-64, chaplain to Edmund Gibson, bishop of Lincoln, rector of Acton, Middlesex, 1726, canon of St Paul's, 1727, rector of St. Augustin-at-the-Gate with St. Faith 1730, chaplain in ordinary to George II. 1730, died 22 April, 1764.
