Nic(h)olson, John, of Essex, cler. fil. Magdalen Hall, matric. 23 June, 1621, aged 15; demy Magdalen Coll. 1622-38, B.A. 19 Feb., 1624-5, M.A. 8 Dec., 1627, fellow 1628-38, proctor 1638, B. & D.C.L. 5 July, 1639; of Stapleford Tawney, Essex, chancellor of the diocese of Gloucester, was in custody of the serjeant-at-arms 1647, for withholding the tithes from the rector of Stapleford Tawney; had a son, John, bar.-at-law, Inner Temple, 1663; brother of Richard 1630.
