Peirs, William, fellow of Emanuel Coll., Cambridge, B.A. 1684-5, M.A. 1688 (as Peirse), B.D. 1695; incorporated 18 July, 1698 (2nd son John, of Denton, Oxon); admitted to Merchant Taylors' school 1672; born 24 Dec., 1661, "an eminent schoolmaster and editor of a Greek play;" brother of John 1674.
