Thirlby, Thomas, fellow Trinity Hall, Cambridge, LL.B. 1521, LL.D. 1528, sup. Jan., 1555-6, for incorporation; archdeacon of Ely 1534, dean of the king's chapel, the last bishop of Westminster 1540-50, bishop of Norwich 1550, and of Ely 1554, deprived 1559 for refusing the oath of supremacy; died at Lambeth 26 Aug., 1570.
