Warner, John, fellow All Souls' Coll. 1520, B.A. 9 Nov., 1520, M.A. 21 Feb., 1524-5, "admitted B.Med. 30 June, 1529, and to practice, when he was proctor 1529-30," D.Med. 12 July, 1535, warden of his college 1536-55, and 1559-65, 1st regius professor of medicine 1546-54, vice-chancellor of the university 1554 and 1559; fellow college of physicians 1561, canon of St. Paul's 1547, archdeacon of Cleveland 1547, rector of Hayes with Norwood, Middlesex, 1557, canon of Lincoln 1555, canon 1559, and archdeacon of Ely, resigned, 1560, canon 1549, and dean of Winchester 1559, until his death 21 March, 1564-5, at his house in Warwick Lane, buried at Great Stanmore, Middlesex; he was probably incumbent of some of the following benefices: rector of Heyford-at-Bridge, Oxon, 1544, of Kirby-in-le-Soken, Essex, 1544, vicar of Whaddon, co. Cambridge, 1545, served Elmley chapel, Kent, rector of Hurstmonceaux, Sussex, 1548, of Sandhurst, 1548, and of Harrietsham, (both) Kent, 1550, rector of Uffculme, Devon, 1554, and of Wonston, Hants, 1559.
