Wise, Thomas, s. John, of Dorchester, Oxon, pleb. Exeter Coll., matric. 16 Dec., 1687, aged 16, B.A. 1691, fellow 1694-1726, M.A. 1694, B.D. 1705, D.D. 1708; rector of St. Alphege with Northgate, Canterbury, 1709, and one of the six preachers of the cathedral, vicar of Beakesbourne, Kent, 1711, chaplain to the princess of Wales 1721, and to the duke of Ormond, canon of Lincoln 1720, until his death 24 July, 1726.
