Browne, John, s. Pet., of Westport, co. Mayo, arm. Christ Church, matric. 17 July, 1725, aged 16; M.P. Castlebar 1743, until created Baron Monteagle 20 Aug., 1760, further advanced as Viscount Westport 24 Aug., 1768, and Earl of Altamont 4 Dec., 1771, died 4 July, 1776, grandfather of John Denis, Marquis of Sligo.
