Christ Church, matric. 9 Nov., 1768, aged 16; plenipotentiary to the Court of Bavaria 1774, to Berlin 1777-82, to Copenhagen 1782-90, to Paris 1790, to Dresden 1792-1802, ambassador to Naples 1803, governor of Leeward Islands 1809-14, of Madras 1814, died 10 Dec., 1830, buried in Westminster Abbey.
