Evans, Lewis, s. Thomas, of Bassaleg, co. Monmouth, cler. Merton Coll., matric. 16 Dec., 1774, aged 19; vicar of Froxfield, Wilts, 1788, until his death 19 Nov., 1827, professor of mathematics Royal Military College, Woolwich, and an able astronomer, father of Arthur Benoni Evans 1799.
