Hereford 1847-52, Radnor 1855-63, chief commissioner of poor laws 1839-47, etc., chancellor of Exchequer 1855-8, home secretary 1859, war secretary 1861-3, privy councillor, historian, philosopher, and critic, died 13 April, 1863.
