​Lowther, (Sir) William (Bart.), of Trinity Coll., Cambridge (B.A. 1730, M.A. 1734); incorp. 9 July, 1734 (son of Christopher Lowther, of Little Preston, Yorks), rector of Swillington, and vicar of Welton, Yorks, 1742, preb. of York 1754, created a baronet 22 Aug., 1764, died 15 June, 1788.
