Lushington, Stephen Rumbold; created D.C.L. 12 June, 1839 (son of Rev. James Stephen Lushington), governor of Madras 1827-32, M.P. Rye 1807-12, Canterbury 1812-30 & 1835-7, chairman of committees House of Commons, joint secretary of the Treasury 1824-7, a privy councillor 1827, died 5 Aug., 1868.
