Maurice, John Frederick Denison, o.s. Michael, of Lowestoft, Suffolk, gent. Exeter Coll., matric. 3 Dec., 1829, aged 24, B.A. 1831, M.A. 1835; scholar Trinity Coll., Cambridge, 1825, migrated to Trinity Hall 1826, subsequently incorporated of that university from Trinity Coll. 1867, hon. M.A. 1867, professor of moral philosophy, Cambridge, 1866-72, chaplain and preacher to Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn 1846-1860, professor of modern history and English literature King's College, London, 1840-6, and of ecclesiastical history 1846-53, founder and 1st principal of the Working Mens' College, London, 1854, perp. curate St. Peter's, Vere Street, London, 1860-6, vicar of St. Edward's, Cambridge, 1871, until his death 1 April, 1872; for list of his works see Crockford.
