Moresby, Admiral Sir Fairfax, g.c.b., k.m.t., created D.CL. 28 June, 1854 (son of Fairfax Moresby, of Stow House, Lichfield), entered the navy 1799, commander-in-chief in the Pacific 1850-5, G.C.B. 1855, admiral 1862, admiral of the Fleet 1870, commanded the Menai, Pembroke and Canopus, died 21 Jan., 1877, aged 90.
