Mowbray, (Sir) John Robert (Bart.), o.s. Robert Stribling Cornish, of Exeter (city), arm. Christ Church, matric. 23 May, 1833, aged 17, student 1835-47, B.A. 1837, M.A. 1839, created D.C.L. 30 Nov., 1869, hon. student 1876; hon. fellow Hertford Coll. 1875, created a baronet 3 May, 1880, and P.C. 1858, bar.-at-law, Inner Temple, 1841, assumed the surname of Mowbray in lieu of Cornish by royal licence 26 July, 1847, M.P.
