Oriel Coll., matric. 5 April, 1832, aged 18, B.A. 1836; fellow Lincoln Coll. 1839-60, M.A. 1840, B.D. 1851, Greek lecturer 1841, tutor 1842-55, bursar 1843. sub-rector 1846, pro-vice-chancellor, delegate of the press and curator of the Bodleian library, rector of Lincoln College 1861, until his death 30 July, 1884, author of 'Life of Casaubon,' etc.
