Sawyer, Herbert, s. John, of WHite Waltham, Berks, arm. St. Edmund Hall, matric. 12 March, 1754, aged 23; admiral royal navy, distinguished himself when captain of the Boyne at St. Lucia in 1779, died June, 1798, father of Admiral Sir Herbert Sawyer, K.C.B., who died 13 Nov., 1833, the friend and companion of George IV. when Prince Regent.
