Symons, Benjamin Parsons, s. John, of Cheddar, Somerset, arm. Wadham Coll., matric. 2 Feb., 1802, aged 17; B.A. 1805, M.A. 1810, B.D. 1819, fellow 1812-31, D.D. 1831, senior bursar and tutor 1822, sub-warden 1824, proctor 1818, select preacher 1813, 1821, and 1831, public examiner 1819-20, 1824-5, city preacher at St. Martin Carfax, Oxford, 1820-40, Whitehall preacher 1823, warden of Wadham Coll. 1831-71, vice-chancellor of the University 1844-8, died 11 April, 1878, aged 94.
