Wesley, Charles, s. Sam., of Epworth, co. Lincoln, cler. Christ Church, matric. 13 June, 1726, aged 18; B.A. 1730, M.A. 12 March, 1732-3, hymn writer, coadjutor with his brother John in the establishment and spread of Methodism, died 5 April, 1788, buried in Marylebone parish churchyard, tablet in Westminster Abbey.
