Wintle, Robert Wintle, born in the parish of St. Mary-the-Virgin, Oxford (city), 1s. Ashurst Turner Gilbert, bishop of Chichester (see page 522). St. John's Coll., matric. 27 June, 1842, aged 17; fellow 1842-50, B.A. 1846, M.A. 1850, of Cholsey, Berks, J.P., bar.-at-law, Lincoln's Inn, 1851, assumed the name of Wintle in lieu of Gilbert in 1851, father of Henry G.
