(1865–1914)

writer of sea stories who wrote for leading magazines such as Harper's Weekly, Leslie's Weekly, Munsey's Magazine, and others; editor of Collier's Weekly for seven years. Many of his stories shared the byline of his wife, S. Ten Eyck Bourke.
