Nebuchadnezzar
(c. 642 BCE – c. 561 BCE)

King of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, who reigned c. 605 BCE – 562 BCE; biblical conqueror of Judah and Jerusalem, who sent the Jews into exile. Credited with the construction of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and for the destruction of the First Temple.
