Mr. Arthur C. Forbes (84), Longleat, Killiney, whose death has occurred, was Directory of Forestry until his retirment in 1931. He came from England in 1905 to enter the Forestry Department, During the First World War he was Timber Controller, and for his work was awarded the O.B.E. in 1920. He wrote a number of books on forestry.
