Funeral[edit]

  • The Standard (London, England), Thursday, November 17, 1898; pg. 2; Issue 23210. — TO-DAY.

The funeral of the Rev. Charles Dent Bell, D.D. Honorary Canon of Carlisle, and for 23 years Rector of Cheltenham, took place yesterday. Teh remains arrived by railway from London soon after noon; but the coffin, covered with floral tributes, did not leave the station for nearly two hours, when it was placed in an open hearse, and drawn through the streets. The first part of the Burial Service was solemnised in St. Matthew's Church, which was crowded. The Corporation and other public bodies were present. The interment was afterwards made at Cheltenham Cemetery, in the family vault, by the side of the deceased's second wife. Manythousands of people lined the route to the cemtery, where the concluding portion of the service was read.

Mr Charles D Bell wrote a book in 1875 entitled "Angelic Beings their nature and Ministry" It was Published by the Religious Tract Society and was printed by Knights Printers London.
