Edward Magennis ( - 1938): Surgeon

Edward Magennis was born in County Down and was educated at Queen's College, Belfast and King's College, London. He was Ophthalmic and Aural Surgeon at St Michael's Hospital, Dun Laoghaire. He was a Governor of the Apothecaries' Hall and examiner in Ophthalmology. From 1920 to 1923 he was President of the Irish Medical Association. Among his publications are Dictionary of Ophthalmic Terms and Eye Systems as Aids in Diagnosis.
