Biographical

She was the director of the Federal Judicial Center in Washington, D.C. from 1999-2003. Prior to her experience as a Federal District Court Judge, she served from 1986-1988 as Judge on the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of San Francisco. She received a B.A. from Stanford University in 1971 and a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1975. (archived bio profile)
