Matric. Michs. 1898; exhibitioner; B.A. 1901; M.A. 1905. Assistant Master at a prep. School at Exmouth, 1902; at Rottingdean School, 1903; at Sutherland House School, Windlesham, 1905-6. Principal of the Diocesan Boys' School, Rangoon, 1907-8. Inspector (and afterwards Director of Public Instruction) in the Indian Educational Service, Burma ; retired, 1935. Served in the Great War, 1914-19 (Major, I.A.R.O.; General Staff Officer). Married, Jan. 3, 1907, Fides Irene, eldest dau. of E. A. Tewson, Esq., of Tunbridge Wells, and had issue.
