I suspect that this is the person identified in VIAF [1]

head master at The Duke of York's School, 1911 (per 1911 census and "Duke of York's School" [Date: Friday, Oct. 8, 1909 Publication: Dover Express Issue: 2675] where he is stated as being M.A. of Lincoln College, Oxford.

1911 census doesn't show other educated people of that name in England.

=> the VIAF person published in

  • 1931: Shakespeare and that crush
  • 1920: The Quest of the Indies
  • 1937: Dibchick

I can also see contributed work

  • 1909: "Simpson's Hesitation" The London Magazine

Reviews of his work cite him as a humorist.
