Introductory Science Primer was published earlier than 1880; it was an authorized textbook in the British Columbia education system from 1876 to 1889. Sources: 6th to 21st Annual Reports on the Public Schools of British Columbia (1876-1891); Manual of the School Law and School Regulations of the Province of British Columbia (1893, 1897, missing from list 1900 on).
