Textual Sources

[edit]

Significant portions of this content have been extracted from the book "The Bear River Massacre" by Newell Hart. This is being done because this content has entered the public domain by being published prior to 1926. Indeed, many of these documents date back to the time of the Bear River Massacre itself. I will attempt, as I can, to locate other verifications of these documents, but Mr. Hart's book is a valuable resource as many of these documents were quoted verbatim rather than having only extracts, as is more typical of historical books.

I am only reproducing that content which was clearly labeled as being published prior to 1926 by Mr. Hart, and not any of his commentary or fictionalized accounts that he has also included in his book. Most of that content is still under copyright, dated as being published in 1982. --Robert Horning 20:21, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
